Thanks for joining me!
I’ve been trying to start up a blog for about three years now, with the thought only at the back of my mind that you can’t commit to something you don’t really care about.
But I do care about films. I’ve been writing film reviews for our uni’s newspaper for a while now (check me out, dude) but have been struggling to watch anything that isn’t released on Netflix lately because cinema tickets in Germany are way more expensive than in the UK. Plus they’re all subbed or dubbed in German.
I had this absolutely genius and never-before-thought-of idea of writing about older films, namely those that have been out for a year or longer. The idea is to see whether some of the best films in cinema history still hold up by today’s standards.
Some stuff about me:
- I study German at the University of Bristol
- I live in Germany right now (big up Mannheim)
- I like sci-fi films, especially Star Trek
- I work in a big scary office doing office stuff
- I have a secret love for Shark Tale
There’s all the important stuff since I don’t leave my house to do anything interesting. Hope you stick around for me probably offending people and being wildly inaccurate.
See ya
Leah
